Thought for the day

It has been forever since I wrote in this blog. But I had a quick thought on a message, while I was reading

(Isa 37:31 KJV)  And the remnant that is escaped of the house of Judah shall again take root downward, and bear fruit upward:

Too many times we expect to bear fruit, but we fail to follow the first part. We need to take root downward.  Nobody plants an apple seed one year, then expects apples the next year. So if we want to bear fruit in our walk with God, we need to take the time to send roots downward.

When planting trees, nothing is more important to a tree, than it's root system. We look up, and see how many branches a tree has, and we are amazed. If we were able to look downward, and see all the roots that work to feed the tree, then we would see how magnificent the tree really is.

But growing roots isn't a popular thing. People don't brag about their tree's roots. They don't usually get noticed, until they aren't there. You'll notice a tree, if it gets blown over by a wind storm. It is a tree that lacked a good root system. The same goes for a Christian, that gets taken away by the world, or by false doctrine. How did that happen? Brother Soandso had such lovely branches. A lot of branches might make for a pretty tree, but a tree isn't any use, if it is blown over, and dies.

So how do we get a life with strong roots, we keep digging. Even though you think you know your Bible, you dig anyways. Even though you think you have prayed pretty good yesterday, you still need to pray harder today. Even though you went to church on Sunday, when Bible Study comes around, you go anyways.

God Bless,
