A teaching on Baptism

I was looking through some past notes, and thought that this would be good to post. If anybody would have questions, or disagreement please let me know.
God Bless,

There is a lot of controversy over baptism, so let's examine the scriptures, and let them teach us.

(setting)Mat 28:16 Then the eleven disciples went away into Galilee, into a mountain where Jesus had appointed them.
Mat 28:19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:

(setting)Act 2:14 But Peter, standing up with the eleven, lifted up his voice, and said unto them, Ye men of Judea, and all ye that dwell at Jerusalem, be this known unto you, and hearken to my words:
Act 2:38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.
In the first setting we see Jesus and his eleven disciples up on a mountain, in Matthew 28:19 Jesus gives them a command.

In the second setting we see Peter, with the other apostles. He is preaching the first sermon since the outpouring of the Holy Ghost. Here he tells the crowd to be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ. So is he disobeying Jesus' command in Matthew 28:19? If he is, then the other apostles are guilty of not standing up for the truth.

Mar 16:16 He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.
In this scripture, Jesus includes baptism in the formula for being saved.

Act 8:16 (For as yet he was fallen upon none of them: only they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.)
Here again people were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.

Act 10:48 And he commanded them to be baptized in the name of the Lord. Then prayed they him to tarry certain days.
Here again people were baptized in the name of the Lord.

Act 19:3 And he said unto them, Unto what then were ye baptized? And they said, Unto John's baptism.
Act 19:4 Then said Paul, John verily baptized with the baptism of repentance, saying unto the people, that they should believe on him which should come after him, that is, on Christ Jesus.
Act 19:5 When they heard this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.
Here people that were already baptized, once they had seen the truth of baptism in Jesus Name, were baptized again.

1Pe 3:20 Which sometime were disobedient, when once the longsuffering of God waited in the days of Noah, while the ark was a preparing, wherein few, that is, eight souls were saved by water.
1Pe 3:21 The like figure whereunto even baptism doth also now save us (not the putting away of the filth of the flesh, but the answer of a good conscience toward God,) by the resurrection of Jesus Christ:
The last verse says that baptism saves us! That goes against a lot of denomination's doctrine. But I like to focus on the part that says "the answer of a good conscience toward God". After seeing all of the scriptures that clearly point the way to baptism in Jesus name, in Acts chapter 19 it even shows the diciples of John getting baptized again, this time in the name of the Lord Jesus.

It is not a sin to only walk in the light that you have, but when God gives you more light, don't stay in the shadows.
